Ervin Dimeny, former Commissioner of the Kentucky Labor Cabinet, is a leading advocate for the expansion of apprenticeship and work-based learning programs. As commissioner, he conceived and led multiple initiatives to expand the scope and scale of apprenticeships across all sectors in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He served as an editor and contributor to “Skilling Up: The Scope of Modern Apprenticeship,” an anthology published in November 2019, in partnership with the Urban Institute.
Ervin, an apprentice himself, was born and raised in Romania. He finished his undergraduate studies in Budapest, Hungary and earned his J.D. at the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville.
