When selecting a material for the production of Small-bore connectors it is important not only to take into account the likelihood of medical devices misconnections, but also to understand the exposure to different forces and substances. Standard plastics could be cheap and do the job when aggressive substances are not in contact with the Medical Device and its connections. However if you are dealing with medical devices used in for example Oncology therapy or Nutrition, it is important that the materials are compliant with oncology drugs, have lipid resistance, chemical compatibility, durability, clarity, withstand sterilization and have good aesthetic properties.
