3D Printing & Blockchain: The Next Steps in Additive Manufacturing

Jack Heslin (President & Founder, 3D Tech Talks)

Location: 208B

Date: Wednesday, February 6

Time: 10:15am - 11:00am

Track: 3D Printing Innovation Summit

The ability to trace the provenance of 3D printed parts has remained unsolved, leading to issues of verifiability and traceability. It’s possible Blockchain technology, with it’s tamper-proof security for digital assets, can address these gaps thereby helping clear the way for further widespread adoption of production 3D printing. This session will discuss some of the current limitations in 3D printing and how Blockchain technology might alleviate some of those issues.

  • What is Blockchain Technology?
    • What are some of the advantages of Blockchain
  • What is The Value of Embedding BC in 3D Printing?
    • What problems would this solve?
    • What are the obstacles to adoption?
  • Where is this today?
